Windows Mobile Devices

The Opinionmeter platform offers a number of device options where kiosks are too bulky or where portability is required.   The newest of these compact alternatives are Apple’s i-devices, but other options based on Windows Mobile (R) technology continue to be available, and Android options are coming soon.

SMART PHONES

These days, many mobile phones are capable of interacting with the Web.   With Opinionmeter, you can use this capability to bring surveys to your customers on virtually any Windows Mobile (R)-capable SmartPhone.

In just the same way as Opinionmeter’s TouchPoint application is available as a Windows Mobile app for the Tablet and PDA solutions, it can also be loaded and run without change on most software compatible SmartPhones.  Talk to us about any special brand or technical needs you may have in this regard.

TABLET PC

Opinionmeter's ultra-mobile Tablet is a small-sized Windows PC unit.  It offers a very compact footprint for space-constrained counter-top use and is a light-weight portable unit also suitable for intercept or highly mobile situations.

Like its larger kiosk “cousins”, it handles all question types, multimedia content, logical skip patterns, and text-to-speech.  Its in-built stand makes it suitable for always-on fixed locations whem powered from its plug-pack.  When portable, a full charge can provide nearly 5 hours continuous operation.

The Tablet PC can be your complete solution when mobility and/or small size coupled with the features and functionality of a full Windows PC are required.

HAND-HELD PDA

Opinionmeter’s handheld Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) is the solution of choice when a Windows Mobile PC (R) device is required in a setting of minimum device size and extreme portability.  Comparable in size with the iPhone/iPod(Touch), the PDA is one of the smallest of our touch-screen devices and, in most situations, would be operated from its internal battery power.

The PDA unit supports most of the question types of its larger “cousins” in the Opinionmeter range but its small screen size does impose some practical limits, easily worked-around with small design changes.   It also typically relies on a stylus for interaction, rather than finger-touch.

This or any of our hand-held devices can be used by intercept interviewers, replacing paper surveys with light-weight technology to collect responses, and eliminating data re-entry.

When small size, rugged construction and Windows Mobile versatility are key requirements, the Opinionmeter PDA makes ultra-portable surveying affordable and effective.

Internet / WiFi connectivity

All Opinionmeter devices rely on internet connectivity to be available at least sometimes to upload customer responses to the repository and to download new / revised surveys.  The devices do not need to be always connected, however, and will continue to collect user responses when no internet connection is available, uploading that data when next they can see the internet.

The Tablet and PDA devices typically make their Internet connection via a WiFi link to a network.  Smartphones usually have a direct internet connection through the telco/carrier providing the phone service.  Either way, the Opinionmeter system works reliably and cost-effectively.
